ABOUT US

HISTORY

Hammeramp is an energetic Groove-Metalband that sounds a bit like Motörhead-meets-Pantera and brings high energy, dynamic live performances.

It was October 2015 when Claude Vanderdonckt (drummer) and Dieter Cnudde (vocals) and Boris Aspeele (former guitarist) were having a drink at a local bar when the idea of jamming together came up.
After playing together for some time, they decided they were going to expand the group and so, required some extra musicians.
Claude invited his good colleague Thomas De Roose to try out for lead guitar and it didn't take them long to feel that they hit it off.
Back then, Dieter was still covering bass and so they kept looking for someone to take the account of vocals.
For this, Claude and Dieter convinced their friend and (at that time) bar-owner Ken De Cooman to take a swing at the vocals, and so not long after, they had weekly rehearsals. They started out playing cover songs of bands like Godsmack, System Of A Down, Black Sabbath, and Stained with Ken originally positioned as frontman and Dieter playing bass. Eventually, they switched places due to realizing that Dieter was a better singer than Ken and in his turn, Ken was a better bass player than Dieter. "Talk about the right man for the right job"...

One night Boris's amplifier started breaking down "gasping out its last breath" sort of speak... and in a crazy attempt to fix it, Boris had the bright idea to start pounding the thing with a clawhammer he found in the garage.......
......followed by a final "squick of death" the amp died out, leaving the entire band in tear-jerking laughter..................................................HAMMERAMP was born!

After little less than a year, Boris decided that his musical interests and some physical limitations led to different paths and so in good understanding and with respect for the friendship he quit the band.
While working backstage at a festival, Dieter met Aaron Bral (guitar) who was playing guitar for another band at the time and told him Hammeramp was looking for a second guitar player. Aaron gave it a shot and they quickly knew that this was a perfect fit.
After playing their first try-out gig, it gave them such a rush that they decided to abandon the cover songs and make music of their own, which they call:
- AGGRESSIVE “IN YOUR FACE” HARD ROCK WITH GROOVE METAL INFLUENCES -

Since then they have been playing for some years now and had the amazing chances and opportunities to play some wonderfull venues like Herfstconcerten, Rock Balegem, Egmont Rock, The Meister (NL) and many more, as well as sharing the stage with some enormously great and formidable bands like Ghostmind, Valley, Dark Sky Choir, Bizkit park, Growing Horns, Spoil Engine, Magnetica, Earupt, 70's Tush, Ironborne, Shaärghot, Beyond The Labyrinth, and even Channel Zero and many more,...

"We set out to always play from the heart and enjoy ourselves on and off stage and give everything of ourselves every single time and we still strive to do so to this day.
Always remembering that we get to do this for the love of music and the fun of it, we are immensely grateful to all our Family, friends, and fans out there who have supported us from the beginning and still do today..."

"WE THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH AND LOVE TO SEE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU EVERY TIME WE MEET! "
"SEE YOU AT THE NEXT SHOW..."

TESTIMONIALS

“When it comes to transfering energy to the crowd, HAMMERAMP truely succeeds!
Reminding me of a mix of Motörhead and Pantera through to their thight sound and Rock-And-Roll feel.“

S.D. - Belgian Metal Shredder

"Hammeramp gave us immediately what we were expecting from a metal band:

Deep rolling drums and awesome riffs by the guitarists backed by a strong bassist who also acts with sturdy backing vocals.

But not least some really powerful vocals by the frontman who does a really nice job of the "chantings" as well as the "screamings".

For the very first time, we get to hear their new track "Stick & Stone"; A classic-sounding song with resonance and brought by a very grateful band and singer."
N.M. - Luminous Dash

"Next up was Hammeramp...having seen them last year at Rock Balegem, I was eager to see them again on stage.

And once again they did NOT disappoint!

For a band that had only started in 2015, these guy's preformed once again with confidence and vigor.

Definitely worth keeping track of."

F.S. - Frank enStein

" Great music and great vibes! "

R.M. - Rob Matthews Music

THE BAND :

DIETER CNUDDE   (1988)

  • VOCALS

A childhood dream come true..

Without having any previous band experience, I got the opportunity to step into this awesome role as frontman of these guys. I respect them for putting up with me and the talents they bring to the table, as well as there choise to letting me represent them.
The music we make, we make it together... and every time I get up on stage with them it's an honor to do so.

KEN DE COOMAN   (1982)

  • BASS GUITAR

After buying my first bass guitar at the age of 16 and playing with some good friends for a couple of years,
it had been gathering dust for quite a while.
Then one night, 2 guys at my bar told me they needed a singer in this band they started, and wanted to convice me to give it a try.  Believe it or not (due to not being sober at the time) I agreed to it!
Long story short, this simple laughing matter evolved into me gaining some friends for life and a role as the bass player of HAMMERAMP...

THOMAS DE ROOSE   (1988)

  • LEAD GUITAR

At the age of 19, I bought my first guitar and with the "world wide web" as my teacher I eventually learned how to get it to talk.  When, six years later, these guys told me they needed a guitar player, I didn’t hesitate for a seconde in joining them... eventually HAMMERAMP being the result of this.
I love jamming with the band, always seeking new rock and metal riffs, or just playing those catchy tunes from our favorite songs.

CLAUDE VANDERDONCKT   (1978)

  • DRUMS

At the age of 11, I learned the very basics of drumming but it wasn't until I started playing in my first band (Sneaking Suspicion) that it got to an active musical role and remained so for 5 years.

Later on in life, after 15 years of silence I took up the sticks again to jam with some friends, due to the idea of Boris, that one night at our local pub... From that moment on I had a newfound joy of playing drums again... resulting in HAMMERAMP being born in 2015....and the rest is history.

WOUTER VAN DEN BOSSCHE  (1997)

  • RYTHM GUITAR

A hands-on kind of guy...nuff said!

LINZY DE TANDT - MERCHANDISING / PROMO

A fan from the first hour, a true lover (of our technician), and supporter of our band since day one!
The most energetic and enthusiastic "merch madam" a band could wish for!
Happy vibes all the way and attracting new fans wherever she goes!

IVO WULLAERT - PHOTOGRAPHER / MEDIA

A friend and supporter of the band for a long time now and an even greater photographer!
Anything with a lens is good enough to capture the moment with his keen eye!
No matter if its frontstage action shots, urbex bandshoots, full motion music videos or simple meet & greet selfies...bring it on.

WALL of FAME :

BORIS ASPEELE  (19**)

  • GUITARIST

This is the man who made it all happen, the dude who put the HAMMER in the AMP!
A great guitarist, a true rocker, and absolutely brutal hammering skills!
Thanks for everything bro and always happy to meet U down the road!

AARON BRAL   (1992)

  • RYTHM GUITAR

After playing a number of bands in the beginning : Almost Famous, Fuck you I can fly and Project Manhatten.

Eventually Aaron met up with Dieter at the Alcatraz Metal festival, both of them working back-stage at that time, they got to talking and not soon after he joined HAMMERAMP.
Aaron played a huge role in the first 6 years of the bands carreer and even tough his musical path went beyond HAMMERAMP, he remains a friend to the group to this day.
THANKS for everything bro!
